As featured in the television's Wish You Were Here programme, Penllwyn Lodges, just three miles from Mongomery, is the setting for a superb holiday. Situated midway between Welshpool and Newtown you could not be better placed for a holiday full of variety and contrast. This completely unspoilt area offers you the charming beauty of the Shropshire borders to the east and the rugged splendour of the Welsh mountains, the Dovey Valley and Cardigan Bay to the west. Penllwyn offers freedom to wander along the canal towpath and around the fishing pool and gardens which is home to ducks and swans. Neaby the River Severn is available for game and coarse fishing which is also free of charge.

On your arrival you will be delighted by the welcome given by Noddy the donkey, Tilley the Llama, two Kune Kune Pigs, two shetland ponies and Sam the Parrot.

Your holiday home is approached by a short drive through the pasture to a wooded hill covering some 16 acres. The natural beauty of the woodland has been carefully preserved and the red cedar lodges have been sensitively landscaped to complement the natural features with only two houses per acre. Most of the hill remains untouched and teams with wildlife, with very friendly squirrels feeding around your lodge.

Each holiday home has been individually designed by the owner and built to the highest specification. With superior standards of insulation and central heating these homes are ideal for all-year-round holidays. Whether your holiday is at the height of Summer; in the Spring when the hill is a sea of swaying bluebells and daffodils; in the Autumn as the wood glows with golden hues; or in the Winter when all is sparkle and contrast, Penllwyn with its abundant wildlife guarantees you an unforgettable holiday which you will wish to repeat again and again.

Every holiday home has its own verandah or patio, and an individual parking area. All are furnished with woollen carpets, central heating with coin meters for electric (excluding Stablings Cottage), colour television, electric cooker and hood, microwave, refrigerator, digital clock radio, CD Players and DVD Players, vacuum cleaner, duvets on all beds (linen is provided) and a kitchen fully equipped.

Located on site at reception we have a small souvenier shop with postcards, jewellry, slate products, posters, Welsh dolls and dragons, pens, ornaments, cards, boxed toffees, plus many more items arriving every day, and we also sell peanuts and wild bird seed for you to feed the wildlife in the wood.

Our local village of Berriew is just two miles away where you can purchase provisions such as milk and bread etc.
